Best Low Maintenance Garden Plants

We all want our gardens to look beautiful, but we also want them to be the easiest to care for, and that is why the best low maintenance garden plants are not always the most popular choices. Many people will choose a plant just because it is easy to maintain, or they like the way the plant looks. But, flowers and landscaping with flowers really require more care than many people give them credit for. If you want your flowers and landscaping with flowers to look beautiful, then you need to learn about the maintenance requirements of the different types of plants that you may choose to use in your flower garden.

The best low maintenance garden plants are those that require little or no maintenance at all. This includes such popular plants as the Mediterranean garden style. The Mediterranean garden style originated in Italy in the 1950s. This is a popular style because it is able to thrive in virtually any type of soil, climate, and pH level. Since the Mediterranean is an area with a lot of varying temperatures and soils, it is a good idea to choose plants that can grow well in these conditions.

Perennials are a great choice for any garden, but the Mediterranean is particularly well suited to this style. Perennials can be planted every two or three years, depending on the size of the plant. There are some types of perennial flower and landscaping plants that have the tendency to grow back every year, even after they have been cut down. These include hydrangeas, crocuses, and shrubs like boxwood, azaleas, and honeysuckle. All of these plants only need to be planted once, and then they will usually be fine.

In addition to being low maintenance, the Mediterranean garden is a beautiful garden style. These plants are very easy to grow, and they have versatility as far as pot sizes go. Most perennials come in pots that range from one inch to twelve inches, and there are special pots designed for different size flowers and shrubs. The size of the container does not matter if you’re planting a perennial, but you should keep in mind that planting perennials in larger containers could potentially be more labor intensive than planting shrubs or flowers in a smaller container. Some plants, like the orchid, grow better when they are planted in a bigger container. However, if you’re planting a plant that has a short lifespan, like the bee bumblebee, you may find that planting it in a smaller container will be more beneficial.

Another nice thing about perennial plants is that they can be planted almost anywhere. The truth is, you can plant shrubs and flowers in pots and then just use bigger containers for perennials. However, most people who have a garden want both types of plants and flowers. So, pots and perennials are more common, and pots and flower beds are less common, as they are usually used for container gardening.

Some plants, like the flowering rose, can grow quite tall (as much as twelve feet), so they are great for landscaping around your house. They are also very useful around water sources, as they can sit on the edge of a pond or waterfall or hang from a tree branch. You can grow roses in a variety of different ways, from a single plant to a group of them, and they can be planted anywhere where there is a water source. In fact, some roses will actually grow to be a tree in places where it would be hard to grow a tree.

The final group of plants is called native plants. Plants like the evergreen maple tree, or the California blue woodruff, are native plants that are easy to care for and look great all year long. In fact, there is a lot of beauty to be found in a garden of native plants, because they have become part of our landscape. They do not need annual maintenance, and you do not have to worry about replanting them every year. If you have ever seen a desert area with only a sprinkler head or a golf course with cacti, you know just how convenient native plants can be.

It is important to realize that you can be an outdoorsy type of person and still have wonderful, low maintenance plants in your garden. Shrubs, such as the bladderwort or hydrangea, make beautiful flooring and come in many different heights. Ferns, such as the annuities or ferns, add a touch of color to your landscaping and are great for hanging baskets and other containers. Even flowers such as the tulips or the marigolds are great if you want a natural, rather than synthetic look to your outdoor space look great. All of these types of flowering plants make a beautiful part of your outdoor space and are easy to take care of.
